Street artist David Zinn on George Street!

September 13 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Free

For more than twenty years, Illustrator and chalk artist David Zinn has freelanced for a wide variety of commercial clients while simultaneously sneaking “pointless” art into the world at large. The week of September 9-13th, thanks to BAAC’s Arts In Education visiting artist programming, Mr. Zinn will be working with many area students in their classrooms. On Friday, September 13th, from 4:30-6:30, watch as he brings some of his chalk art creatures to life on the sidewalks of George and Main Streets, near Amack’s Well, as part of AIE’s evening series. Don’t be surprised if a permanent creature or two pop up around town! Zinn has achieved global notoriety through Facebook, Instagram, Huffington Post, and other platforms. His most frequent characters are Sluggo (a bright green monster with stalk eyes and irreverent habits) and Philomena (a phlegmatic flying pig), but the diversity of Mr. Zinn’s menagerie seems to be limited only by the size of the sidewalk and the spirit of the day. His artwork has graced sidewalks from Manhattan to Sweden to Taiwan, and soon Batesville! It’s a must-do with your kids!
