We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team in Batesville, IN.

Your Role at Batesville:

As a Quality Engineer, you will improve processes, leading to best-in-class quality of our products. You will work with production personnel and department leadership to understand defects and their underlying problems. You will implement solutions that permanently solve those problems.

What You’ll Do:

-Understand with intimacy the processes in the fabrication (welding, grinding/sanding, etc.) areas of the plant.
-Understand quality profile of fabrication department from the perspective of downstream departments, distribution network, and customers.
-Maintain job instructions relevant to the departments.
-Disposition non-conforming material.
-Feedback quality problems to suppliers, both internal and external, and assist in developing solutions to same.
-Use quality engineering tools (SPC, problem-solving, data analysis, PFMEA, etc.) to diagnose and solve problems by using data to support such efforts.
-Use standard tools (caliper, micrometer, height gage, etc.) to measure and assess component parts relative to drawing and process needs.
-Other duties may be assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

-5-10 years’ experience in quality engineering, preferably in a fast-paced, relevant industry
-Ability to communicate clearly and effectively up and down the organization.
-Strong track record of successful problem-solving
-Bias towards action
-Hands-on approach to leading process changes, particularly with shop-floor personnel

Nice to Haves:

-Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent from a college or university in Engineering, Industrial Technology or related field preferred
