We are excited to restart the Local Celebrity Cocktails for a Cause event in July and even more excited to announce our next local celebrity – Bill Wintz. This guy has done it all and continues to do it all for our great community and he always has a smile for everyone he meets along the way!
Bill is a modest guy, but let’s take a moment to reflect on Bill’s service throughout the community. Bill spent 25 years on the Batesville Volunteer Fire Department where 17 of those years were spent as the Assistant Chief. Bill has also been a member of the American Legion for 52 years, the VFW for 14 years (12 as a Trustee), the Eagles and the Knights of Columbus for 10 years where he serves on a Sunday clean-up committee. He has served on the St Anthony Church Council for 3 years and he retired from Batesville Casket Company after 41 years in office. You can still catch Bill working hard at the Batesville Liquor Store where he has worked for the last 5 years.
And, to top it all off, Bill is a veteran of the US Navy where he served from 1963-1966. We are so thankful for Bill’s service to our great country as well as his service to the Batesville community!
Bill’s cocktail will be The Top Gun because he spent some of his US Navy days at the Top Gun Naval Air Station Miramar. How cool is that? All of Bill’s tips and a portion of proceeds from every Top Gun Drink sold will go to the VFW Post 3183.
